Our sustainability journey

At Dataprint, we’re committed to sustainable business practices to minimise the effects of climate change. We understand the importance of reducing our carbon footprint to sustain the future of New Zealand’s environment and economy.

We are Toitū carbon reduce certified

Dataprint holds Toitū Enviromark Certification at the Diamond level. Our greenhouse gas emissions are measured in accordance with ISO 14064-1.

We have a five-year sustainability action plan with more long-term goals in the pipeline. We’re focusing on responsible growth, cleaner air, conservation, waste reduction, education and forming responsible partnerships. You can find all the details in Freightways’ latest sustainability report.

What does Toitū Enviromark Diamond certification mean?

Toitū Enviromark Diamond certified organisations exceed the requirements of ISO 14001, one of the world’s best known environmental standards. This is what we do to maintain Toitū Enviromark Diamond certification:

Periodically have top management review the performance of the EMS.

Have formalised the roles and responsibilities for people working for and on behalf of Dataprint.

Communicate appropriately both internally and externally.

Ensure appropriate training is given to peopleworking with the EMS.

Have documented all procedures relating to managing the system (both system and operational procedures).

Have a good system for managing problems (non-conformities and opportunities for improvement).

Have set objectives and targets for driving improvement and have programmes in place to meet those targets.

Have developed, implemented and tested environmental emergency plans.

Have identified and evaluated significant environmental issues arising from our activities, products and services.

Are actively monitoring our ongoing compliance with New Zealand legislation and are ensuring they are aware of any changes to obligations.

Have produced an environmental policy statement

Understand the scope of our EMS (i.e. are there any parts of Dataprint that need to be excluded from the EMS and why).

Exhibit no non-compliances with New Zealand’s applicable health and safety and environmental legislation.
